I have the 'fashion bug' and it's not going anywhere..

Sitting on my bed and looking at my very full, beautiful, impressive closet I see a lot of old and new - casual dresses I wore in high school, glamorous new dresses for the holidays, knit sweaters that kept me warm in the north, casual knit tops, dressy woven tops, jeans in every color of the rainbow, skirts in many colors and patterns, and a pair of shoes for every day of the month. Bottom line: I have tons of clothes. However, I have had a lot of years to get to this point as I have been building up my closet since the 'fashion bug' bit me over 10 years ago.

Since my passion for fashion began, my favorite pastimes have included shopping, putting on home fashion shows and having any reason to dress up and wear a new outfit. At 14 I would save up all my money for an upcoming trip to the Mall of America and have the time of my life spending it all on glamorous new clothes. Money may not buy happiness but the things money can buy (aka clothing) brings great joy.

I'm not writing this post to try and brag about how many clothes I have. I am writing this because I know there are other girls and women out there like me who have the same burning passion for fashion and can relate to having the 'fashion bug.' Clothing and fashion are my life's passion and my hearts love and something I have based my career on. Basically fashion is my life. Just as some men have their cars, I have my clothes... and there is nothing wrong with that.

However, I think my parents began to worry about me when they noticed how many clothes my closet was accumulating in high school. I am sure it was in their best interest to worry that I was spending too much and not saving enough. However as my mother says, 'Betsy does what Betsy wants', I didn't let my parents concern stop me from having my dream closet. Furthermore, my parents can rest assured that I still have money in the bank.

Lucky for me, I am currently employed with one of the largest apparel wholesalers of women's ready to wear, sportswear and suits in a 79,000 square foot building stocked full of amazing clothing. I am basically in heaven and if I need to take a break from my marketing tasks in my office I can wonder the showroom, which always leads me to find something I want to try on or buy. Working in wholesale has its major perks as I pay wholesale price for the clothes, which is significantly less than what it would be sold at in retail. On top of that, I have an employee discount :) So basically I am getting amazing, quality clothing for a major discount. I love my job! My fashion bug will only expand from here and I have no guilt.
